About Me

My name is Xavier Matos | Cinematographer 

My journey into the world of filmmaking began when I was a child watching movies at home on VHS/DVD on repeat and doing kicks and flips on the way back to the car with popcorn on my shirt after watching an unforgettable movie at the theaters (which I may or may not do till this day). With these experiences over the years, I have sparked a passion for storytelling and visual expression that led me to become a cinematographer, director, writer, and producer. I specialize in creating narratives, documentaries, commercials, social media content, and films. Each project is an opportunity to craft stories that resonate with the audience and leave a lasting impact.

I am a first-generation college graduate from Full Sail University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Cinematography. My education equipped me with the skills to pass my creative boundaries and to work as a leader. My skills vary from editing, lighting, camera operations, writing, original storymaking, managing a team, and working in all stages of production. Also, I have dabbled in acting. Projects I've worked on vary in different genres and forms of media. Even though my schooling was a learning experience that taught me the foundations of what I know, what drives me is the curiosity and desire to create and grow with each project I work on. As for my future, my journey as a filmmaker will be outstanding. Working with others who love the art of film learning and networking with amazing people is something I look forward to daily.

Filmmaking is pure excitement about what the day may hold in my personal “film” called life. Each day is a different chapter, from the writer's table to the director’s chair or behind the camera, it’s all about the experience and who I can inspire along the way. The film connects us all in a way that brings us back to the memories we have of them, like my memory of when I was a kid coming out of the theater acting like I was the film's star.
